Shawcor Inspection Systems (SIS) has designed a range of x-ray detection systems that have many applications in oil/gas both new and existing info-structure inspection.
It’s HDRTR system is used extensively for the inspection of pipeline girth welds both on-shore and offshore. The system is also in use on pipe mill seam welds and LPG tank fabrication. The system is supplied with extensive software interpretation tools and databases.
An ultra-high resolution version of the weld inspection system is available for thinner materials (<10mm), where both resolution and contrast are paramount, such as laser and electron beam welds. This product is designated μHDRTR.
SIS has also developed a range of high sensitivity gamma ray linear detectors that can be used with isotopes. These detectors have applications for in-service inspection for corrosion under lagging and they are suitable for encapsulation into sub-sea housings for such applications as flexible riser inspection and life extension of pipelines.
Our expertise in both x-ray and gamma ray detection systems finds applications in the oil/gas industry that were in the past considered too difficult, expensive or time- consuming.
