A limited number of wet insulation coatings are available at 180 °C. In the market for Subsea Production System (SPS) insulation coatings there is a particular need for improved adhesion properties and point load resistance. To deliver this and to increase the product offering for the SPS market Shawcor and Materia came together to develop XtremeTemp CC. XtremeTemp CC is a fast cure, flexible Norborene thermal insulation material which is qualified to ISO 12736:2014 for use on SPS equipment operating at 180 °C. The presentation will describe the properties of the new high temperature wet insulation product and some highlights from the qualification scope.
