Granite Wash Shale

The Granite Wash is comprised of several oil and gas producing formations located in the Texas Panhandle and Western Oklahoma. It covers an area approximately 160 miles long and 30 miles wide with depths varying from 11,000 to 15,400 feet and an average thickness of 3,000 feet. The Granite Wash was first targeted in the 1940s and has produced more than 2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 110 million barrels of oil through both horizontal and vertical drilling.
