The design and manufacturing of FlexPipe Linepipe and FlexCord Linepipe is in accordance with the standards and guidelines for qualification, quality control and testing of composite pipe and accessories.
FlexPipe Linepipe is accepted as ASTM International Standard F2686-10as specified in “Standard Specification for Glass Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe.”
American Petroleum Institute (API)
Our composite linepipe products are designed, qualified and manufactured in accordance with API 15S, “Spoolable Reinforced Plastic Line Pipe.”
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Our flanges are compliant with the requirements of ASME B16.5, “Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings.”
International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
Shawcor is certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, “Quality Management Systems – Requirements.”
Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
Our composite linepipe products meet the requirements of CSA Z662-07, “Oil and Gas Pipeline Systems,” which covers the design, construction, operation and maintenance of oil and gas industry pipeline systems.
Alberta Energy Regulator (AER)
As the governing body in Alberta, Canada, the AER allows FlexPipe Linepipe applications to be processed as routine for fresh water, salt water, multiphase, crude oil/LVP and natural gas service, including sour service. Directive 056 confirms the suitability of FlexPipe Linepipe for gas applications up to the CSA Z662-07 limit of 9930 kPa plus for other types of applications up to FlexPipe Linepipe’s maximum pressure rating. The AER allows FlexCord Linepipe applications to be submitted for pipeline applications with up to 800 ppm H2S.
The United States Department of Transportation (DOT)
The DOT considers the use of FlexPipe Linepipe and FlexCord Linepipe in regulated applications through waiver applications submitted to the Office of Pipeline Safety.
Jana conducted an independent third-party audit of Shawcor’s test capabilities and practices, and found that the company has the required equipment, procedures and personnel to generate data in accordance with API 15S.
