Achieving field girth-weld corrosion protection in offshore and onshore applications with a variety of products.
Shawcor can apply all the corrosion protection heat-shrinkable sleeves in any location you require—offshore on pipelaying vessels or onshore on spoolbases or other locations.
For more than 35 years, we have been a leading developer and manufacturer of specialty pipeline coatings for the sealing and corrosion protection of pipeline joints and other substrates. Our high-performance products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and are available in a number of configurations to accommodate any specific project requirements.
Hotmelt Heat Shrink
Global Transmission Sleeve, or GTS, refers to a series of high-performance field-applied coating systems that provide superior corrosion protection for buried exposed and offshore pipelines.
Shawcor also provides a range of hybrid GTS-type systems that offer a more forgiving application procedure, with a more “fit for purpose” performance level that may be suitable for your application.
Hybrid Heat Shrink
We offer a range of polypropylene-based hybrid GTS systems that combine Canusa-CPS patented polypropylene backing technology for advanced mechanical protection with our more forgiving adhesive technology. The design delivers outstanding resistance to external mechanical loads, while allowing for a very simplified and forgiving installation procedure for 3LPE and 3LPP coated pipelines operating at temperatures up to 100°C (212°F).
Mastic Heat Shrink
The K-Series products are mastic-based heat-shrinkable systems, which have been designed for fast and flexible installations.
The product range offers systems for offshore and onshore applications, with a range of operating temperatures. The product line offers both cost effective solutions as well as high-performance products.
The XCS system is designed for use in extreme conditions, including cold weather applications and rehabilitation of pipeline coatings.
This system is designed for situations where pre-heating of the substrate is not possible.
Shawcor’s DDX and TBK systems were specifically designed to protect welded joints on PP, PE and FBE coated pipelines in directional drilling applications. In addition to providing effective protection against pull-through forces that occur during the directional drilling operation, Shawcor’s DDX and TBK systems provide superior corrosion protection at pipeline weld joints.
The tubular heat-shrinkable products offer a fast installation method for flexible application requirements. These products have many different applications, both in the pipeline industry as well as multiple industrial applications.
The products are used extensively in alternative construction applications, including on bridges and street lamp posts.
Aqua-Shield is a family of heat-shrinkable sleeve products that have been specifically designed for corrosion protection of water pipelines. Various product configurations are available that utilize a cross-linked polyolefin backing and a protective, heat-activated adhesive which effectively bonds to metallic substrates and common pipeline coatings.
Heat-Shrinkable Sleeves for Protection of Pre-Insulated Pipe Joints
SuperSeal™ and UltraSeal™ sleeves have been specifically designed for long-term sealing of joints on pre-insulated pipes. Advanced-grade polyethylene backing material, combined with function-specific adhesive technology, ensures superior barrier against water ingress and exceptional protection from the soil stresses associated with pre-insulated pipelines.
The SuperSeal™ system features include:
- Compliance with the stringent requirements of EN 489 standard
- Proven and extensive track record of sealing district heating joints over the past 25 years
- Exceptional performance to value ratio
The UltraSeal™ system features include:
- Surpasses the requirements of EN 489 standard
- Strongest bond to substrate and highest shear strength in class across the entire width of sleeve
- Lowest installation temperature of any comparable system ensures forgiving installation
