3-Layer Bonded Polyethylene Coating

YJ2K™ is a bonded coating system consisting of a Fusion Bond Epoxy primer, copolymeric adhesive and a cross-head extruded high density polyethylene outer layer. YJ2K™ was developed for buried oil and gas pipelines in environments where superior adhesion, impact, cathodic disbondment and moderate to high operating temperature properties are required.

Excellent Corrosion, Moisture and Soil Resistance

  • The 3-layer system consisting of Fusion Bonded Epoxy, copolymeric adhesive tie layer and a crosshead extruded high density polyethylene jacket provides an excellent barrier to corrosion and moisture in various soil conditions

Excellent Handling Characteristics

  • The tough high density polyethylene outer jacket is formulated to protect pipes from damage when installed on the right of way as well as handling in storage yards
  • This outer-layer thickness can be varied to offer greater mechanical protection in very rugged environments

Excellent Flexibility and Impact Resistance

  • The YJ2K™ use of FBE provides excellent adhesion to the pipe which allows for field bending to -30°C* while maintaining a high level of corrosion, moisture and soil resistance
